About the Pavement Laborer Position
This is a full-time, hands-on position supporting our concrete and asphalt crews. You will help prepare jobsites, grade and compact base materials, handle tools and materials, and assist with concrete placement and asphalt paving. Projects include driveways, parking lots, sidewalks, patios, slabs, roadways, and other pavement work throughout Appleton, the Fox Valley, and Northeast Wisconsin.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, clean, and organize concrete and asphalt jobsites
Assist with demolition, excavation, grading, and base preparation
Remove pavement and load debris
Carry, clean, and organize tools and materials
Set and strip concrete forms
Install rebar and wire reinforcement
Help place, spread, screed, edge, broom, and finish concrete
Shovel, rake, lute, spread, shape, and compact asphalt
Help create clean pavement edges, joints, seams, and transitions
Operate hand tools, plate compactors, and other small equipment
Support finishers, paver operators, roller operators, truck drivers, and foremen
Direct traffic when assigned and properly trained
Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
Follow foreman instructions and company safety procedures
Report safety concerns promptly
Qualifications
Construction, concrete, or asphalt experience is helpful but not required. This position requires dependable attendance, reliable transportation, the ability to follow instructions, and a willingness to learn. Applicants must be able to lift at least 50 pounds repeatedly and perform demanding outdoor labor in changing weather and active jobsite conditions.
