About the Asphalt Paving Equipment Operator Position
This is a skilled asphalt equipment-operating position that also requires driving a company truck. You will operate paving equipment and help transport crew members, materials, and equipment to local jobsites. Projects include asphalt driveways, parking lots, roadways, and commercial paving throughout Appleton, the Fox Valley, and Northeast Wisconsin.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate asphalt pavers, screeds, rollers, compactors, and skid steers
Set screed depth, grade, crown, and slope for a smooth, durable surface
Operate rollers and compactors to achieve proper density
Set up, adjust, clean, and maintain paving equipment
Read site plans and verify grade, slope, and elevation
Inspect subgrade and base conditions before paving
Drive a company truck to transport crew members, materials, and equipment
Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections
Perform basic truck and equipment maintenance
Support the crew with raking, luting, and shoveling when needed
Keep jobsites, trucks, tools, and equipment clean and organized
Follow company, DOT, OSHA, MUTCD, and jobsite safety requirements
Qualifications
Applicants must have asphalt paving equipment experience, a valid Class A or Class B CDL, a valid DOT medical card, and an acceptable driving record. This role requires safely operating paving equipment and company trucks, performing hands-on paving work, lifting at least 50 pounds repeatedly, and working outdoors around heat, hot asphalt, traffic, and heavy equipment.

Knowledge of grade, slope, crown, elevation, and compaction
Experience producing smooth, consistent asphalt surfaces
Experience inspecting subgrade and base conditions

A willingness to perform raking, luting, shoveling, and other crew work when needed
